Kefalonia, Greece: Agia Efimia: the coast
We came here twice from Skala: once by road (a long drive along good, quite but hilly, twisting roads) and once by boat: definitely the way to travel! The boat trip to Fiscardo from Skala calls in here for lunch on the quay. I had freshly caught Sardines, Greek salad and crusty bread. (Oh yes and plenty of cold beer!) Yum. MORE... |

Agia Efimia is one of the towns which was completely destroyed by the earthquake in 1953. This means that all the buildings here are relatively new. However, the rebuilding that we saw, was done tastefully and Ag' Ef' gives the impression of a prosperous new town.
