This was one of the beaches used in the filming of Captain Correllis Mandolin and you can see why. It is truly beautiful. You can only get in and out by one rather hairy road, from the town of Sami which I bet is great fun in the height of summer! (Are you good on tiny, narrow roads with steep drops down to the sea?)

Despite first impressions, the beach is NOT white sand it is white pebbles. But this probably accounts for the amazing, clear, azure sea.

It is astonishingly underdeveloped again. There is a tiny shed on the approach, selling cans, crisps etc. and one taverna with a slightly more expansive menu. Thats it!

People parked on the road next to the beach when we were there, but I bet it gets busy in the high season.

There are olive orchards right next to the beach and you can hear the goat bells tinkling in the undergrowth.
