Castle view from Peratata
Unfortunately, it was a little cloudy on the day we went up to the castle. A narrow, steep. winding road of concrete (very noisy) slabs leads you to the top of a hill, where lo and behold! There is a village, complete with 2 or 3 tavernas, a coupe of arty, gift shops and a castle (padlocked shut).
Apparently one of the tavernas has had fantastic write-ups in The Guardian which seemed to do the trick: trade was brisk. So we decided it was only fair to share out the tourist custom by having our coffee over the road at the slightly alternative place with the loud Bob Marley music.
Very ordinary. Very expensive. Suppose thats what you get for bucking the trend.
Nice views south though.
