Kefalonia, Greece: Kaminia Beach and Bay
 The first thing we noticed about Kaminia is that it was gorgeous. The second was that we were the only people there! This photo was taken at coffee time one morning (about 11ish) at the end of May school holidays. So where were all the tourists? (Actually, we know the answer to that one too: see the Lassi photo!).Kaminia beach, like many we visited on Kefalonia is idyllic, quiet and completely undeveloped. This is loggerhead turtle country; they come to this area to breed each year. The only concession to the tourist, was a small shack serving coffee, toasties and icecream. True, the sound of the generator hammering away in order to power the grill for our toasted sandwiches did somewhat disturb the tranquillity, but hey! We were hungry! MORE... |

And for all those out there who like to know these things; the toilets everywhere in Kefalonia were excellent! In 7 days of tramping the island, we only found one (Mirtos beach you have been warned) that wasn't clean, with proper, hygienic washing facilities. We even started scoring them.
