Lassi - you'll either love this place or hate it!

Good points: beautiful sand - ideal for sandcastles, lovely clean sea with proper waves to have fun in, cliffs and rocks back the beach providing some natural shade, plenty of tavernas on the beach, easy to reach from Argostoli, plenty of water sports, pretty curving bay.

Bad points: parking is difficult - you have to be a patron of one of the tavernas, or pay, beach is busy (by Kefalonia standards) and narrow, loud, thumping music from the tavernas, close to airport so you can watch - and hear - the planes come in and out, very commercial.

Not for me, I'm afraid; although when my children were little I would have been glad of the chance for them to play in the sand with some shade, despite the lack of peace and quiet. If I was going to Kefalonia now, with little ones, I'd pick Skala and head down to the south end of the beach - lots of sand there and much more peaceful for Mum and Dad.
