Exterior of Monastery of Agios (Saint) Gerassimos, Kefalonia. This rather impressive monastery was a surprisingly delightful place to visit. It has lovely gardens and is a peaceful spot, cooler than down at the coast. Here the air is fresher and the scenery is gorgeous.
Saint Gerasimos is the patron saint of Kefalonia and is famous for helping those with mental illness. His relics lie at this monastery in a silver casket.
