Poros is the next small town up the coast from Skala. Our guide book described it as 'bustling'. Bustling?
There was no one there to bustle. There were plenty of tavernas along the front (all more or less empty) so maybe this place does fill up in the summer, but even so... bustling?
Poros has 3 main beaches all pebbly, most deserted. The sea is clear, turquoise, as everywhere on Kefalonia. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and a few mini markets, but it is felt less touristy and more like a working Greek town than Skala. Maybe this is because of the port. We saw large ferry boats go in and out to the neighbouring islands and other ports on the island.
